Our Story

Freedom to grow.
Esara International School was born from the strong foundation of Chiang Mai Montessori School, carrying forward over 15 years of educational excellence.
Building on our legacy of authentic, effective Montessori education, Esara expands learning into the Middle School level. Our MIddle School is established on Montessori principles and integrated with individualized curriculum that nurture students and helps them become confident, capable, and globally-minded learners and leaders.
At Esara, education is vibrant, connected, and future-focused.

Philosophy & Approach

Freedom to Grow
At Esara International School, our philosophy is grounded in the belief that every child is naturally curious, capable, and eager to learn when given the right environment and guidance.

We build upon the proven strength of the Montessori philosophy, while embracing forward-thinking educational practices that prepare students to thrive in a global and ever-changing world.

Our approach blends the independence and self-directed learning of Montessori with a holistic, interdisciplinary curriculum designed for the 21st century. Through inquiry-based projects, creative exploration, and meaningful collaboration, students connect their learning to real-world challenges and opportunities.

We nurture the whole child — intellectually, socially, emotionally, and ethically — fostering a balance between academic excellence and personal growth. Our classrooms are vibrant, inclusive communities where students learn to think critically, act compassionately, and lead with confidence.

Our Learning Principles

Every step of the Esara journey encourages students to:
Explore their curiosity and take ownership of learning
Collaborate with empathy and respect
Create innovative solutions and express themselves confidently
Lead with purpose and integrity
At Esara, education is more than preparation for the future — it is the freedom to grow today, becoming the best version of oneself and ready to make a positive difference in the world.

MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER

“Esara International School began as a dream I carried long before it had a name. As a child, I always wished for a school where I felt calm, understood, and inspired—where learning felt meaningful and adults truly listened. When I became a mother, that wish became a responsibility. I wanted my own children, and every child in our care, to experience an environment that protects their spirit, honours who they are, and helps them discover who they can become.
This is why Esara exists.
We bring that vision to life through peaceful, beautiful spaces; educators who see each child with patience and respect; and a learning journey that grows with them—from our WASC-accredited Montessori beginnings to the British National Curriculum, grounded always in human development and real-world purpose.
What we offer is more than academics. It is confidence. It is belonging. It is the joy of working hard at something meaningful, and the safety of knowing you are supported every step of the way.
Esara is deeply personal to me—a community built with love, intention, and hope. My wish is that every family who walks through our doors feels inspired, supported, and connected to something bigger than a school: a vision of a kinder, stronger future for all of us.”

OUR MONTESSORI APPROACH

Faithful to Montessori principles, and practical for today’s families, we follow the AMI Montessori framework, with trained guides, mixed-age classrooms (3-6 and 6-12), and a protected three-hour work cycle for students. Children move purposefully, select work with guidance to ensure holistic learning that also encourages their natural talents and interests. Student practice and, with time and discipline, achieve mastery–building concentration, order, peace, independence, and a sense of social responsibility.

Academic foundations across age-groups include concrete, hands-on materials for mathematics, language, geography, biology, geometry and STEM, leading naturally to abstraction skills. Children learn grace and courtesy, care for their environment, and respectful problem-solving. Families new to the Montessori model for education can consider it ‘structured freedom’, with trained teachers who prepare the environment, give clear lessons and help children practice with increasing responsibility and agency.
